Advantage: tourism naturally brings in a fantastic source of revenue for the 'locals.' Disadvantage: What could be a nice, private, secluded beach is suddenly laden with tourists. Also -- think about the 'eco' impact that tourism has - fuel runoffs from ships, etc.

1. You get to see new, amazing, beautiful places. Bahamas. 1. People trying to get you to buy useless crap. 2. Locals strung out on various drugs, which they will also try to sell you.

One major advantage of tourism is the income that it brings to thousands of workers. Tourism is the Bahamas' major industry and many Bahamians depend on tourism to survive. Disadvantages: The economy is too dependent on tourism and when the no. of tourists visiting the islands lessens, people have to lower their standard of living. The economy needs to be diversified. Because of tourism, the Bahamas has lost some of its strong culture. They try to cater to Americans and have themselves become americanized.
